One straight, one gay and one multi-ethnic
Shaun Majumder, the Canadian actor and comedian who is a regular on CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes, has landed a lead role in a new series for U.S. network ABC.
Majumder will star in the as-yet untitled project, a comedy about marriage and parenthood as seen through the eyes of three couples — one straight, one gay and one multi-ethnic.
In April, he will begin shooting the pilot, being produced by Jeff Strauss, who worked on All of Us and Friends.
Newfoundland-born Majumder, who created the comic character of sports reporter Raj Binder, will star alongside Janet Varney, Jonathan Silverman and Matthew Lillard.
Majumder has been host on Just for Laughs and has had roles on 24 and on the cancelled Fox series Unhitched.
